1.2 Course description
This course provides students with a foundational understanding of the basic legal principles governing family law in Hong Kong. Key topics include marriage, divorce, arrangements relating to children, financial provisions and cross-border disputes. In addition, students will receive an introduction to the procedures and processes of the Family Court, equipping them with essential knowledge for navigating the legal landscape of family-related disputes and resolutions.

Private study time: | 9.5 hours / week for 12 teaching weeks |
Remarks: the normative student study load per credit unit is 25 ± 5 hours (ie. 150 ± 30 hours for a 6-credit course), which includes all learning activities and experiences within and outside of classroom, and any assessment task and examinations and associated preparations.
